About

Hi, I'm Sam.

Self-confessed introvert, senior solicitor at a leading international law firm, and Founder of Invincible Introvert.

I started Invincible Introvert to help introverts in professional services build their careers on their own terms, in a world that often rewards noise over nuance.

Over my career, I've watched the working world lean further towards:

  • open-plan offices designed for collaboration;
  • group discussions, workshops and brainstorming sessions;
  • relationships built at large-scale networking and social events; and
  • self-promotion and being seen in the room.

Each of these has its merits. For extroverts, who gain their energy from social interaction, it can be a dream. For introverts like me, it can be draining.

For a long time, I thought success meant acting like an extrovert. My very own "fake it until you make it".

It doesn't. Success doesn't require you to be bolder or louder. It requires understanding of your strengths, and using them in a way that feels like you.

What you'll find here

Honest stories from my own career, focusing on the following five themes:

  • Clear thinking: using your reflective nature as the strength it is.
  • Building connection: networking and relationships, without pretending to be an extrovert.
  • Being visible: being seen and heard at work, in a way that suits you.
  • Taking action: getting past the dread and getting started.
  • Working smarter: tools and techniques that make work easier without compromising your strengths.

It's written for introverts who are building their careers in professional services, and ready to be trusted with more.

A new article lands every fortnight.

I’m glad you’re here. Let's feel invincible, rather than invisible.
